Classes

Our class groups

We believe in a continuous journey of growth, carefully designed to build confidence, skills, and curiosity from age 2 to 6.

Each class, from the Yellow Group to Grade R, focuses on specific developmental milestones—preparing young bodies and minds for ‘big school’ and life beyond. Partner with us as we guide your child toward becoming a confident, happy individual.

Yellow Group

Our 2–3-year-old group is a space of discovery and growth.

During the year, the children are constantly developing their new skills and widening their knowledge. The teacher is mindful that she must prepare these young minds and bodies for what is to come as they progress through school.

The focus for the school and parents alike has to be on the children becoming confident, happy individuals who are eager to explore and discover.

Red Group (GR 000)

The 3–4 year old journey is a vibrant leap forward in independence.

At this age, children become more vigorous, sociable, and adventurous in their play. While they are navigating new emotions, we provide the clear boundaries and consistent routines they need to feel safe and reach their full potential.

Our focus is on strengthening both fine and gross motor skills while nurturing an increasing concentration span.

Green Group (GR 00)

In the Green Group, we prepare children for the exciting transition to “Big School” through a holistic curriculum.

We view parents as vital partners in this journey, working together to nurture independent, confident decision-makers.

Our focus goes beyond academics; we guide our children to respect themselves and others, take responsibility for their actions, and approach every new challenge with a clear sense of who they are and what they can achieve.

Blue Group (Grade R)

As the final step before “Big School,” the Blue Group is a year of consolidation and growth.

We extend general knowledge and refine the physical coordination that leads to newfound agility. At this age, children embrace structured games, learn to navigate complex rules, and begin to distinguish fantasy from reality.

Most importantly, we foster perseverance, teaching children that mistakes are not failures, but essential curves on the path to success.

Aftercare

Aftercare, supervised by Ms Makhosi Miya, extends the morning programme, carrying out the same ethos, boundaries and general guidelines, but it is less formal.

Parents provide a healthy lunch and snack, and then our younger children nap for an hour after lunch with Ms Zodwa Mthembu, who is a wonder at helping the children to sleep with stories and songs. This helps them recharge for plenty of fun in the afternoon. The children are free to choose an activity such as painting, drawing, sandpit play, climbing and swinging, or join a teacher-directed structured activity to develop cognitive and creative skills.

At aftercare these is an opportunity for children of all ages to mix. This fosters tolerance among the older children and promotes development in younger children.

We have structured our school fees to include free aftercare to 14:00, only charging aftercare rates thereafter.

Extra murals

Education for life doesn’t just stop in the classroom. It is with this in mind that we open our doors to specialists that offer additional physical, intellectual, and creative opportunities in the form of extra murals.

These classes are held straight after school with all the teachers and coaches being hand-picked and all the activites are appropriate, suitably pitched at the ability level of the age groups. We feel it is important that the afternoon sessions uphold our educational standards, extending and enhancing the morning programme.
